Tokyo Tour (Ueno Zoo)

So I realize I haven't made a blog post in 1000 years so I will try to slowly make posts for whatever
I have taken photos of. Like with everyone, the first week or so is crammed with photos and tourist-y worthy moments. Now that I have been here for a month the photo taking has decreased dramatically so hopefully that will encourage to post more regularly... Anyways, here's photos from when I went to the Ueno Zoo.

Splitting into our respective Tokyo Tour groups

On the train to Ueno

Awesome monk. I wanted to hug him. He stood perfectly still holding a donation bowl.
Ueno Station

Awesome levitating bowl of ramen. The chopsticks moved up and down mechanically!
A few of our guides. We split into groups from our already split Ueno Zoo group to get food. Yeah.... there were a lot of people attending the tours today. And considering max capacity for Japanese restaurants isnt even 30 people, it's really difficult to cram everyone into one place.
Yeah I'm scared.

Settled on Korokke Curry. Delicious and cheap. I think it was 470JPY.

I was the first to finish so I waited outside to let others have a seat.... It was really crammed. Also it smelled like shit down half this road because of the sewage....
GASHAPONSGOAHLDS

We asked the Waseda student guides what this were and they didn't even know.  Also they were as grossed out by it as we were hahah!
Animal Crossing!!!
Coolest vending machines ever
Walking toward the zoo
Small shopping area
Passed by this and I couldn't believe it... A University of Utah cap! It is clearly bootlegged but I didn't expect anyone to know what the U was let alone bootleg it! It made me happy seeing some Red here. Totally miss home.
GENGAR CUSHIONS FFFFFF
More Pokemon UFO catchers!
Our awesome guide Sho (?)! Kai-an (Ireland), me, and him raced each other... well I tried to but I timed out before I put in the coin so I had to play the computer. Also Sho gave me 100JPY to play because I didn't have any coins (only 10000JPY bill)... so kind!
Walking through Ueno Park to get to the zoo

There were a LOT OF PEOPLE

Monkeys

Tapir! I've never seen one before.
TOO MANY PEOPLE OH GOD
He posed for me to make up for the INSANE crowds
Japanese black bear.... looks smaller than the US version.

Gorilla Forest and Tiger Forest
Very difficult to see Lion

Gift shop

Ueno Children's Park!
Leaving the zoo

Adult Movies
Marina (Belarus), Me, Kai-an (Ireland)! Very awesome people.

AWESOME Japanese Bakery Outlet

Cheap and delicious! I bought a few. I ate them. I need to go back.
Sunflower garden.... unfortunately the season was already over so they all closed up.

Finally heading back to the train station. Some of us split up and went to All-you-can-drink and met up with the other Tokyo Tour groups.
Everyone that went to the Ueno Zoo tour gathered in a circle and the Waseda student guides had a few closing words.

FRESHNESS BURGER
Finally home! Dropped by Santoku on the way back and got some supplies.
That night we had our first "Sunday Dorm Dinner" and Alicia (America) was cooking. She made some traditional Japanese dishes and it was all very delicious! I'm very glad she made this event. Well that's it! I'll try to make some more posts soon.
